Family therapy provides a space for family members to express and explore their feelings in a non-judgmental environment.
You can discuss difficulties and differences and learn how to balance these, improve communication and agree a way forward.
Not all members of the family need to attend all sessions. The counsellor might work with children and adults individually or in different combinations, depending on the issues.
Family therapy can help with a range of difficulties, including couple relationship; addiction; mental illness; disability; child behaviour; separation & divorce; loss or trauma; and life change (moving away, changing schools etc).
A counsellor can help facilitate reflection and enquiry, helping differences to be understood and resolved.
